The Grade 7/8 Band meets every second school day for one hour. Some students started learning an instrument in September, others are into their 3rd year of playing. Despite the wide range of ability, we love making music.

3. "Dancing Snowflakes" - Grade 5 (Mr. Stollings)

The Grade 5's took a very simple pentatonic melody and turned it into an presentation piece by adding boomwhackers, triangles, dance, and xylophones.

4. "Winter Festival - Nutcracker Dubstep" - Grade 7G (Mrs. Kidd)

What is Dubstep? It seems to be the newest style of electronic music. . . that heavy bass line and reverberating percussive sound are key elements of Dubstep.
The 7G class created this dance routine in their dance unit.

5. "Frosty the Snowman" - Grade 1 (Mrs. Grainger & Miss. Lundall)

  • accompanist: Ms. Boos
The Grade 1 students decided on all the actions for this family favorite.

6. "Crash! Bang! Boom!" - Grade 3 (Mrs. Snyder & Ms. Sinclair)

Glendale students love playing instruments, and have incorporated 5 into this performance, the triangle, bass drum, tambourine, timpani, and cymbal.

7. "Classroom Hip-Hop Style" - Grade 7K (Mrs. Kidd)

A flash mob during class! How cool would that be?

8. "Jammin' in our Jammies" - Grade 2 (Miss. Vockeroth & Mrs. Paquin)

  • with special babysitting help from Brooke and Emily
What can be more fun than a dance number in our pajamas!

9. "Reindeer Pokey"

Kindergarten (Mrs. Kilpatrick & Mrs. Felzien)= The cutest reindeer you might ever see!

10. Mr. Hartel Clones

  • Miss. Lundall
  • Mrs. Triffo
  • Mrs. Kish
At Halloween this year, most of the school staff dressed up as our principal, Mr. Larry Hartel. We had Office Larry, Track Suit Larry, Business Suit Larry, Supervision Larry, Larry in a Blonde Wig, and Hercules Larry.

11."Santa Mashup (Santa is the Man & Santa Fever) - Grade 5/6 & 6H (Miss. Lavoie & Miss. Hadland)

The students had a lot of fun learning about the disco era, and wearing the AFRO!

12. "We Might Heal" - Grade 4/5/6 Choir

Soloists: JJ, Tait, Taylor, McKailey, Gabe, Sadie

At Remembrance Day, the choir of 60 voices performed this song, making it the largest choir to ever perform at that event.

13. "Grownup Christmas List" - Grade 5/6 Small Ensemble

  • accompanist: Ms. Boos
  • Taylor, Aleah, Alicia, Brendan, Gabriel, Taylor, Brittany, & Sadie

This group of students asked our pre-service teacher if she would help them learn a song. They practiced at noon hours.

14. "Rockin' On Top of the World" - Grade 4

This song was featured in the movie, The Polar Express.

15. "Christmas Glendale Style" - ?

Last year the teacher's came out as rappers to close the show. . . what did they come up with this year?
